These tests consist of a 2 bar melody using either C major pentatonic or B minor pentatonic. The first note of the melody will be the root and the first interval will be descending. The test will be played twice. The format is: count-in, root note, count-in, melody.There will be a gap for you to practise after the 2nd time. You will then hear the count-in and tonic for the 3rd time followed by a vocal count-in and then you play back what you heard.

These tests consist of a tonic chord followed by a two bar chord sequence in C major, using chords I, IV, and V. The sequence may occur in any combination. The test will be played twice. The format is: count-in, tonic chord, count-in, chords. There will be a short gap for you to practise after the second time. You will then hear the count-in and tonic for the third time followed by a vocal count-in and then you play back what you heard.
